Homestead exemption of $49,100 of assessed value (2025-2026) for totally disabled veterans
Kentucky's homestead exemption deducts up to $49,100 of assessed value for the 2025 and 2026 tax periods for homeowners who are 65 or older or classified as totally disabled. A veteran with a combined service-connected rating of 100% who is considered totally and permanently disabled qualifies, as does a veteran rated at least 70% whose award letter grants individual unemployability. Apply to your county Property Valuation Administrator (PVA) by December 31 of the tax year; a service-connected totally disabled veteran does not have to reapply each year.
